BERING SEA — Coast Guard, FEMA and Alaska State Homeland Security and Emergency Management representatives over fly more than 15 villages along the western coast of Alaska in an HC-130 Hercules airplane from Air Station Kodiak following a severe storm Nov. 10, 2011. The Coast Guard positioned additional resources in Western Alaska in advance of the storm but they were not needed to respond to any distress situations and have since been returned back to their home stations.
