111006-G-DX440-001-Kauai search and rescue exercise
KAUAI, Hawaii – Coast Guardsmen join members from Kauai Fire Department and Ocean Safety to conduct a search and rescue exercise off the east coast of Kauai, Oct. 6, 2011. The purpose of the exercise is to improve communication,
coordination and interagency relations. Coast Guard assets included crews aboard a 47-foot Motor Life Boat, the 110-foot Coast Guard Cutter Galveston Island and an MH-65 Dolphin helicopter from Air Station Barbers Point. Local agency assets included a helicopter and a boat from the fire department, jet skis from Ocean Safety and a small airplane from the Civil Air Patrol.
